Concert MOUSIKO POLYTROPO
Mystic Voices from Greece
11.11.2016
A commemoration of the 9th of November; a symbolic date for German history.
“Mousiko Polytropo” is a group of musicians from the School of Music Studies of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki inspired by the wealth and diversity of ancient Greek myths, fairytales and traditions, using Greek ceremonial and ethnic elements performed in a theatrical and scenic form.
“Mousiko Polytropo” consciously seeks to revive old ways of poetic expression and authentic Greek singing and dance rituals.
“Musiko Polytropo” was initiated in 1994 by Ioannis Kaimakis, Associate Professor of the School of Music Studies of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and since then has performed in many cities all over Greece and abroad.
The performance will be held within the framework of the European project Remembering the Past – Building the Future, which aims to highlight the importance of remembrance and to show how the fragility of memory preserves the past and brings with it the hope of a better future.
