EU-funded Training Opportunity in the Field of Young Migrants’ Social Integration and Inclusion Call for participants

Then, Jugend- & Kulturprojekt e.V., a non-profit association that designs and implements educational activities based on non-formal learning methods, digital tools and online learning gives you the unique opportunity through the 2-year Erasmus+ project “EXEMPLAR – Young Migrant Integration Leaders” to join an innovative and intensive online train the trainers course focused on integration, youth empowerment and on developing trainers’ skills.

This in-service training provides you practical insights in in order to develop the necessary skills and awareness to deliver the Integration Leaders Curriculum to young migrants, to utilise fully the digital toolbox of civic and social competence acquisition resources and to build your own self-confidence to work in interactive and blended learning environments.

The topics on which you are going to get trained, are the following:

  • Integration and Me: the meaning and importance of integration
  • How to be a good educator: qualities and competences a trainer should possess in the 21st century
  • Empowering young people: enabling young people to participate through developing collective action and learning
  • Success stories, case studies: examples of successful integration of the young migrants in different countries

 

The EXEMPLAR in-service training programme includes 36 hours of training made up of:

  • 21 hours of face-to-face workshop

and

  • 15 hours of self-directed learning supported by the project’s e-learning platform.

 

Cost

This online in-service training is free of charge as it is part of the Erasmus+ strategic partnership project Exemplar funded by the European Commission.

 

Participants

The number of participants is limited. Only 10 selected front-line adult and community education staff have the unique opportunity to join this training.

 

Location & Time of the online training:

The in-service training will take place in the premises of the Erstaufnahmeeinrichtung on 19 Hamburger str. in Dresden on the 5th, 6th and 7th of May 2021 (7 hours/day, from 9.00 to 17.00) and is divided into guided workshops and tasks to be worked on individually and/or in groups. The final programme will be sent to you after your online registration.

 

What is the EXEMPLAR – Young Migrant Integration Leaders project about?

EXEMPLAR – Young Migrant Integration Leaders is a two-year Erasmus+ strategic partnership project aiming to support migrants to develop an appreciation of their own heritage and of the cultural heritage of their host countries in Europe. By developing this keen awareness of the cultural heritage and values of Europe, the consortium will contribute to achieving greater social cohesion between migrant and host communities.

Training front-line adult and community education staff, and especially those working in migrant support organisations, is one of the crucial steps towards fulfilling EXEMPLAR’s vision.

  • Devote time to studying the self-directed learning resources available on the project’s e-learning platform

 

CHALLENGE! Upon the completion of the in-service training (training & self-directed learning), the participants who wish to put into practice their skills, are heartily welcome to join JKPeV’s Team of Trainers and co-facilitate face-to-face and online workshops addressing young migrants who wish to become young migrant integration leaders.
