Our new Volunteer has started to work with us

Hi! My name is Yağız, 26 years old. I am coming from Turkey and will be here in Dresden to participate in a European Solidarity Corps (ESC) project and will volunteer in Jugend- & Kulturprojekt e.V. (JKPeV). Despite the restrictions that came with the pandemic, we made it possible to actualize this exciting project. This is now my second time in Germany and is the first time ever for me to be in the city of Dresden. While I was on the plane from İstanbul to Berlin, it was an exciting journey for me since we would no longer be able to travel from one place to another easily during these hard times, even in our own country! Still, I made it to Dresden after 3 hours of flight and 2 hours of a bus ride and all I can say is that Dresden is a fabulous city with its rich culture, diverse community, and historical places. Hopefully, I will be working for to make a positive impact in the local community of Dresden through this ESC project and will discover this beautiful city in the following days. Thanks to the Erasmus + Program, ESC and JKPeV, there are many things to learn and experience out of this fascinating journey.

As we say in Turkish; Görüşmek üzere! (See you around!)
