It was a great opportunity for Jugend- & Kulturprojekt e.V. to send one representative, Myrto-Helena Pertsinidi, to join the Civil Society Forum on Combating Antisemitism and Fostering Jewish Life, in Brussels on 16-17 November. Myrto-Helena Pertsinidi presented the project “Hannah: Challenging & Debunking Antisemitic Myths”, the HANNAH project consortium, the project’s outputs and impact at the workshop “Education on antisemitism, Jewish life and the Holocaust” moderated by Hristina Petkova (Policy Officer, Strategy, governance, equality and inclusion, DG Education, Youth, Sport and Culture, European Commission) with the panelists Zuzanna Radzik (Vice President, Forum for Dialogue) and Johannes Börmann (Policy Officer – Europe for Citizens Programme – Remembrance Strand, DJ Justice and Customers, European Commission). The focus was given to the development of innovative educational tools to foster Jewish life and history and combat antisemitism in the panel discussion. Mrs Katharina von Schnurbein, Coordinator on Combating Antisemitism and Fostering Jewish Life, from the European Commission opened the forum, followed by a video speech by Vice-President for Promoting our European Way of Life of the European Commission, Margaritis Schinas. Ana Gallego, Director-General for Justice and Consumers, gave a keynote and Isabelle Kumar, the moderator of the forum, introduced the agenda. The forum included 8 different workshops, networking sessions, panel discussions, and evenings with interesting conversations. 151 organisations joined the forum and we do hope that we will have the chance to work together with some of the organisations we met there on future projects.
