HerStories – Kick-off Meeting
It has been a great pleasure for Jugend- & Kulturprojekt e.V. to join the Kick-off Meeting of the CERV project “#HerStories” on 19-20 January 2023 in #Berlin whose main aim is to strengthen remembrance of 20th-century Jewish history and the Holocaust in a transnational yet local, microhistorical perspective.
The “HerStories” project will engage #educators and #students from Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and Spain through a series of interactive events, ranging from workshops and seminars to competitions and public events that will also showcase the results of the project – one exhibition in each of the six countries, on 20th-century European #Jewish history based on 6 personal stories of Jewish #women, multimedia student projects on local Jewish history, a best-practice reader made by teachers for teachers, and a #documentary film about the project and its participants from 6 countries.
During the kick-off meeting apart from the presentations and discussions on the implementation of the project, we worked in groups on the selected 6 stories of Jewish women and had the possibility to exchange our viewpoints.
Moreover, we had the chance to join a very interesting and interactive walking tour of the Jewish Berlin Mitte guided by Fabian Rühle from Centropa.
We would like to thank the team of Centropa from Hamburg-Germany for the coordination and the great organisation of the Kick-off Meeting and our partners: Centropa Alapítvány from Budapest-Hungary, Galicia Jewish Museum from Krakow-Poland, Jewish Museum of Greece from Athens-Greece, and Mozaika from Barcelona-Spain.
