Full moon, open doors and smiling faces at Full Moon Gallery – exhibition ‘Windows & Portraits’ by Svetlana Petrasch

  |   News

Once again, the full moon shone brightly on the open doors of the Full Moon Gallery – and with it, a new, colourful world opened up on 5 November 2025. The exhibition ‘Windows & Portraits’ by artist Svetlana Petrasch invites visitors to immerse themselves in a universe of emotions, stories and colours – in faces that speak and windows that become spaces for the soul.

The vernissage was lively and cheerful, filled with inspiring conversations, warm encounters and a cosy atmosphere that even the cool November wind could not dispel. Old and new friends gathered, laughed, exchanged ideas and enjoyed the special magic of this evening under the full moon.

In her husband’s touching laudatory speech, guests learned more about the painter’s life. Svetlana Petrasch, born in Penza (Russia), has been devoted to art since childhood. Between 1994 and 1999, she studied classical painting and art education at the Penza Art Academy. For many years, she worked in Russia as a freelance artist, specialising in portrait and mural painting. Since 2019, she has been living and working in Dresden, where she is active as a commissioned painter and art teacher. Her works – from intimate portraits to large-scale murals – are characterised by a positive, life-affirming view of the world. Despite a quiet melancholy, they radiate optimism, warmth and empathy.

In her artistic work, Svetlana combines technical precision with emotional depth. She works with oil and texture paste, giving her paintings a palpable liveliness and depth. In mixed media techniques and collages, she combines different materials, perspectives and stories to create impressive compositions that appeal to both the eye and the heart.

In her exhibition ‘Windows & Portraits’, she weaves her two passions – architecture and human representation – into a poetic dialogue. The windows of a façade become a mirror of the souls of the people who live behind them. It is the small gestures, the quiet glances and everyday moments that fascinate her. Her art always remains accessible, approachable and honest. It invites us to pause, to look, to feel.

The eyes are the mirror of the soul,’ says Svetlana Petrasch, ‘and windows can represent the soul of a house.

The exhibition ‘Windows & Portraits’ is now on display at the Full Moon Gallery. It invites you to immerse yourself in Svetlana Petrasch’s colourful world – in images that look at us, open us up and touch us.

You can view Svetlana Petrasch’s works for yourself at the Full Moon Gallery until 4 December.
