ManUp4Her: A Two-Year Journey Challenging GBV Together
The ManUp4Her Project has come to an end after a remarkable journey of advocacy, growth, and reflection on the role of every individual in building a more equitable society.
To mark the conclusion of the project, JKPeV organized a national event and presentation with professionals and interested participants, raising awareness and promoting action against gender-based violence (GBV). The events also provided an excellent opportunity to present the project to a wider audience and extend its impact.
Over the two-year project period, several resources were developed: an interactive eBook, a podcast series, six videos, five expert interviews, and the Ambassador’s Handbook. Each resource explores GBV in different formats, tailored to diverse learning preferences, while highlighting the crucial role of individual action in challenging normalized forms of violence. All materials are freely available online for self-paced learning or guided facilitation.
- E-book “Gender-based Violence: The Complete Blueprint”: Covers definitions, historical background, forms, and impact of GBV, supported by data and case studies. JKPeV contributed a chapter on environments where GBV occurs, including family, workplace, public spaces, and online.
- Podcast series “What They Don’t Tell You About GBV”: Summarizes the eBook’s content in an accessible format, extending the project’s reach.
- Videos “Know the Signs: Preventing Gender-Based Violence”: Led by JKPeV, these videos present practical tips and visual cues for prevention and recognition of GBV across different environments.
- Expert Interviews “He Said. She Said”: Featuring experts such as Marie Cucurella, discussing the broad impact of GBV on all genders, intersectionality, and the importance of bystander intervention.
- Ambassador’s Handbook: A practical guide combining knowledge, soft skills, and guidance for men’s active engagement in preventing GBV.
- Quiz “Equality Matters”: A short, interactive quiz to test knowledge and introduce key gender equality topics.
Together, these outputs convey the project’s core message: awareness, empathy, and action are essential to challenging gender-based violence in all its forms and environments.
