Change the Game: How RadicalGAME Empowers Youth Against Radicalisation
The RadicalGAME project has officially concluded, but its mission to strengthen youth civic engagement and prevent radicalisation through innovative and playful learning continues.
At a time when low youth participation can contribute to polarisation and extremist narratives, RadicalGAME provided fresh tools that promote critical thinking, empathy, and active citizenship.
RadicalGAME Card Game
A role-play card game set in fictional countries, tackling real issues such as democracy, climate change, employment, inclusion, education, and sport. Through role-playing, debates, and multiple perspectives, players strengthen their civic awareness and resilience to extremist ideas. The full kit includes:
- The Card Game (with multiple levels, wildcards, and social media challenges)
- Facilitator Guide with session tips, rules, and facilitation strategies
- Learning Outcomes Matrix for assessing skills gained during gameplay
Online Platform
A digital version of the card game for group sessions, plus a resource and service database supporting teachers, youth workers, and facilitators in prevention work.
Practice & Policy Recommendation Guide
An interactive guide capturing youth needs and expectations, offering guidance for policymakers, practitioners, and educators on addressing radicalisation through engagement and empowerment.
Although the project lifecycle has ended, RadicalGAME is designed to live on.
