Let’s get creative together.  \n  \nThe “Art is Us” project which started back in March 2021 with the aim of using the transformative force of culture for community regeneration to respond to the severe impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had both on artists and the cultural sector and on social inclusion and cohesion\, invites artists\, community leaders and art educators and other professionals of the CCSs to the Art for Local Innovation and Community Building Event on 05.02.2022 at 19:00 at KulturCentrale. \n  \nIf you are an artist\, a community leader\, a cultural or creative professional or you represent a cultural/art/creative organisation and wish to connect with a creative and alternative community of artists in Dresden focused on supporting the local community through arts and cross-cultural dialogue and collaborate on multiple levels\, then you are invited to join us on Sunday\, 05.02.2023 at 14:00 at KulturCentrale (Hechstr. 17\, 01097 Dresden). \n  \nYou will have the chance to learn about the “Art is Us” project and find out how you can get involved and benefit from it as well as meet artists that were involved in the “Art is Us” project and will speak about how they interact and support their communities through their art. For this purpose the premiere showing of five short film portraits about the personal stories and social impact of five artists that were produced within the framework of this project will take place. \n  \nA few words about the “Art is Us” project \n  \nThe “Art is Us” project equips artists\, community key skills and competencies for a sustainable creative career and has provided them with the opportunity to be successful innovators in their communities through a variety of educational tools and approaches. The ENACTING project aims at empowering citizens to express their ideas and concerns on social issues through the production of social documentaries. SUMMARY:„Revolution der Geduld“ Lesung und Gespräch über die Proteste in Belarus und den Krieg in der Ukraine
DESCRIPTION:Im Sommer 2020 gingen die Menschen in Belarus auf die Straße\, um für Demokratie und Freiheit zu kämpfen. Es gelang ihnen nicht\, sofort zu siegen. Zehntausende wurden und werden immer noch festgenommen und zu langen Haftstrafen verurteilt. Tausende sitzen nun in den Gefängnissen des postsowjetischen Landes. Mehr als eine Million Belarussen verließen ihr Land. Jedoch spürt man keine Niederlage\, denn etwas Unumkehrbares ist jedoch bereits geschehen und geht nun beharrlich weiter: die Geburt und die willige Selbstgestaltung einer Zivilgesellschaft jenseits sanktionierter Machtgefüge – im Lande selbst\, im Untergrund und im Exil. Umso mehr jetzt\, während des Krieges in Ukraine\, in den das diktatorisch regierte Belarus direkt involviert ist. \n  \nHeinrich Kirschbaum\, Professor für Slavische Literaturen und Kulturen an der Universität Freiburg\, beschäftigt sich genau mit dieser andauernden „Revolution der Geduld“\, so der Titel jüngst bei „Matthes und Seitz“ erschienen Buchs\, das von der belarussischen Kultur\, Geschichte und Poesie\, jedoch nicht zuletzt auch von der eigenen Betroffenheit handelt. \n  \nPhoto by Andrew Keymaster on Unsplash

DESCRIPTION:Anna Mukhanova ist eine Performance-Künstlerin\, Sängerin und Malerin aus Odesa\, Ukraine\, die jetzt als Geflüchtete in Dresden lebt. Im Rahmen einer geplanten Workshop-Reihe über ukrainische Traditionen und Kultur wird sie einen kostenlosen Workshop über die Petrykivka-Malerei abhalten\, einen traditionellen ukrainischen dekorativen Malstil\, der zur Verzierung von Hauswänden oder Haushaltsgegenständen verwendet wurde\, sich heute aber auch als moderne Kunstform entwickelt. \nDer erste Teil des Workshops besteht aus einem Vortrag über diese Kunstform\, während die Teilnehmenden im zweiten Teil selbst malen können. SUMMARY:Workshop von Anna Mukhanova - ukrainische dekorative Malerei
DESCRIPTION:Anna Mukhanova ist eine Performance-Künstlerin\, Sängerin und Malerin aus Odesa\, Ukraine\, die jetzt als Geflüchtete in Dresden lebt. Im Rahmen einer geplanten Workshop-Reihe über ukrainische Traditionen und Kultur wird sie einen kostenlosen Workshop über die Petrykivka-Malerei abhalten\, einen traditionellen ukrainischen dekorativen Malstil\, der zur Verzierung von Hauswänden oder Haushaltsgegenständen verwendet wurde\, sich heute aber auch als moderne Kunstform entwickelt. \nDer erste Teil des Workshops besteht aus einem Vortrag über diese Kunstform\, während die Teilnehmer im zweiten Teil selbst malen können. Am Ende werden alle ein oder sogar mehrere Bilder haben\, die sie mit nach Hause nehmen können. \nDer Workshop findet am 3.12. um 18:00 Uhr in der KulturCentrale\, Hechtstr. 17 statt und endet gegen 19:30 Uhr. The last part of the episode refers to the current life of the Jewish community in Novi Sad\, which is very active\, its traditions and customs\, which it tries to preserve by involving young people in various cultural programs and activities. The episode concludes with the choir of the Jewish community singing the song “Tradition” from the musical “Anatevka”.

DESCRIPTION:In the framework of the Jewish Week Dresden\, the Jugend- & Kulturprojekt e.V. presents the lecture by Avery Gosfield: The Ghetto of Venice \n  \nAlthough the Venice Ghetto was undoubtedly a repressive measure\, it was one of the few places in Europe where Jews had the right to practice their religion openly and live together in (relative) peace. For this reason\, it became a center of attraction for the immigration of Jews from all over Europe and beyond. \nThese various “Jewish nations” – the Spanish (which included Portuguese\, North Africans\, Turks\, Greeks\, and Albanians)\, the Germans (which included Poles and Russians)\, and the native Italian Jews\, Europe’s oldest ethnic minority – lived together in close quarters\, creating a lively\, sometimes explosive\, cultural mix. This mishmash was further enriched by the constant exchange with the Italian majority population.

DESCRIPTION:Im Rahmen der Jüdischen Woche Dresden präsentiert der Jugend- & Kulturprojekt e.V. den Vortrag von Avery Gosfield: Das Ghetto von Venedig\nObwohl das Ghetto von Venedig zweifellos eine repressive Maßnahme war\, war es einer der wenigen Orte in Europa\, an denen Juden das Recht hatten\, ihre Religion offen auszuüben und in (relativem) Frieden zusammenzuleben. Aus diesem Grund wurde es zu einem Anziehungspunkt für die Einwanderung von Juden aus ganz Europa und darüber hinaus.\n\nDiese verschiedenen „jüdischen Nationen“ – die Spanier (zu denen Portugiesen\, Nordafrikaner\, Türken\, Griechen und Albaner gehörten)\, die Deutschen (zu denen Polen und Russen gehörten) und die einheimischen italienischen Juden\, die älteste ethnische Minderheit Europas – lebten auf engem Raum zusammen und schufen einen lebendigen\, teils explosiven\, kulturellen Mix. Dieser Mischmasch wurde durch den ständigen Austausch mit der italienischen Mehrheitsbevölkerung noch bereichert.
