Shaping Policies: Roundtable 1 Successfully Concluded!

  |   News

In the framework of the Radical Game project, JKPeV joined the Roundtables with Youth and Experts to reflect on how radicalisation takes shape across different areas of society.

Representing us, Doreen Siegmund shared her expertise on media literacy, political education, and democratic participation, bringing forward how crucial it is to understand the dynamics behind our digital lives.

We explored the root causes that make social media not only a powerful space for social movements and democratic dialogue, but also a hidden threat where polarised discourse, misinformation, and digital violence can thrive.

How does misinformation spread? How can we counteract the normalisation of hate speech online?

Many important points emerged:

  • The role of algorithms in shaping what we see
  • The urgent need for strong media education and critical thinking
  • The false sense of anonymity online and the lack of consequences for digital hate

But it wasn’t just about identifying the problems — we also explored concrete solutions.

Don’t miss our upcoming Policy Recommendations Report, a practical roadmap to support youth, educators, and policymakers in tackling radicalisation in different areas.
