Why network?
Dresden and Saxony have a diverse and vibrant arts, culture and education landscape: from large institutions with international appeal to independent initiatives that develop experimental formats and appeal to new target groups. It is precisely this diversity that makes the region strong – but at the same time, it faces major challenges. Financial uncertainties, social polarisation and the effects of global crises are forcing cultural professionals and educational institutions to ask themselves how they can secure their work in the long term and at the same time make it sustainable for the future. Here it becomes clear that exchange, cooperation and mutual support are key to pooling the region’s potential, breaking new creative ground and strengthening social cohesion. ‘LET’S SHARE ONE UMBRELLA’ addresses precisely this issue and offers a platform where stakeholders can develop perspectives together, learn from each other and provide impetus for a strong, networked scene in Dresden and Saxony.
