Reflecting on our Hybrid Capacity Building within the radicalGAME project
On the 8th of May, we had the pleasure of hosting a Hybrid Capacity Building as part of the radicalGAME project, which aimed at combating youth radicalisation through innovative, game-based methods.
The training brought together youth trainers from Germany and across Europe, forming a diverse and insightful group. We explored the complex topic of radicalisation, with a particular focus on how radicalGAME offers an interactive, scenario-based approach to engage young people and promote democratic values.
Participants actively engaged with the radicalGAME methods and scenarios, reflecting on their applicability in their own educational and social contexts. It was particularly enriching to hear a range of perspectives – from different cultural and national backgrounds – and yet to observe a shared recognition of the game as a tool to encourage democratic values in young people. Many trainers expressed interest in using the game in future sessions with youth, appreciating its open-ended structure that invites reflection and dialogue.
We are grateful for the openness and curiosity of all participants and look forward to seeing how the game will be applied in different settings.
